Ha! Right…Los Angeles doesn’t have favelas but the Pacific Palisades sure do look like ’em from far away. Reminded me of Rio de Janeiro fifteen years ago. I spent a summer down there studying business and partying my butt off. That’s another story.

Seriously though, we hiked another little gem today just up the coast from Santa Monica, CA. It was only about twenty minutes from home just off Sunset and the PCH. Super convenient. I’m surprised I didn’t know about it. There are a zillion trails around here to explore. This one was called Los Liones to Parker Mesa. It was about 7.5 miles and 1300 ft high. Took us about 2.5 hours.

It was a beautiful clear day. This trail is super green and the mountains back there were also really green. Strange right now since it hasn’t rained in forever. Not too much to say about this one except we didn’t even need a map. It was super easy. Just one trail up. Wait, I actually went the wrong way on the way down but that’s because I was texting.

Just go do it. It’s fun.
