I’m doing it. I was talking with my friend the other day and she told me about her friend’s book. It’s called Ani’s 15-Day Fat Blast. Coincidentally I have a few pounds I can lose. I always have a few pounds I can lose. It’s summertime, right? I seem to get fatter in summer. I think it’s because I’m happier maybe? Or because there are outdoor patios you can drink beer on and eat all day at the beach. So I started her book yesterday and I am on Day 2. It’s a 100% raw diet, something I have never attempted in my life and something I don’t think I would ever want to do permanently. She claims that it makes you feel so good that one might consider it. We’ll see. Basically the first three days are all shakes, blended shakes. Some fruity and some soupy. And they are all cold. Cold soup is a bit hard for me to stomach so I am not craving second portions, that’s for sure. The next days move on to some salads and stuff you can chew on. The point of the whole thing is to cleanse your body and burn the …

So a couple days ago I had this THING removed from the inside of my leg. My thigh to be exact. I usually start every post off with a picture but for this one I’ll put the picture last. Only scroll if you have the stomach. The bump has been there for a few years. It was a lump. Some call it a cyst, lymphoma, beast, weight, negativity, karma, roadblock, get it out of me, type of something. I asked my doctor at a physical a few years back and he said not to sweat it. So I didn’t. Until recently when it seemed like it was getting bigger. And it was always bugging me. Like a little gnat that was always around. It was time to get it checked out again. My other doctor said “let’s get the f$&@er out.” I delayed my first surgical appointment. I acted like I was busy but I wasn’t. Maybe I was scared. Maybe I was scared I would miss it. Tuesday I got it removed. It was the size of a friggin golf ball. Pretty nasty actually. It was crazy though. The night before I barely slept. I don’t really know what …

The other day I got a Facebook message from a girl named Katie Bachmeyer. She happens to be the sister of a girl I went to high school with. Long story short, when we were on our festival run with Alphonso Bow in Kentucky, her and her sister traveled from Ohio to come to the The Derby City Film Festival. Oh, the wonders of Facebook. I was in awe that those two girls, one I hadn’t talked to in years, came all the way to Kentucky to see a movie my father and I made. It was very cool. After the film we all went out for lunch, I think it was pizza or something. We talked an awful lot about the film and a bit about life. Anyways, Katie, who was very articulate at the time, talked so in-depth about the movie that I asked if she would please write a review. She said, “Of course.” After the festival I might have talked to her and her sister one or two more times and then it dropped off as it normally does in this day and age. The Facebook message I got from Katie the other day had the …

Well folks, it’s time. The project Underbelly, the pilot I have worked on for a year and a half is ready to be seen. This was a huge project for me. Not only was I an Executive Producer on it, I did every other thing on the planet you can think of, along with the help of about 100 friends, colleagues, my producing partner, and the extremely talented writer/director. They say you get to pick two of three. Fast, Good, or Cheap? We chose to do it good and we were able to do for a little less dough than normal. But, it did take some time. Thanks to all who volunteered their time and skill set and those who acted because they believed in the project. Please come out and enjoy it. Mark your calendars, a screening will be held Friday, May 18th at the MLK Auditorium at the Santa Monica library, 7:30PM sharp. We are premiering at a pretty large auditorium and holds up to 150 people. It’s a free showing so please RSVP because we will fill up. We’re ecstatic to have landed such great actors who have appeared and are currently starring on network and primetime …
